SOLID GROUND

THE MORE WE HEAR WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT GOD, THE MORE QUESTIONS ARISE IN OUR MIN. WHAT SHOULD WE BELIEVE ABOUT SIN, FORGIVENESS, AND SALVATION? WHERE CAN WE LEARN THE TRUTH?

AS WE FAITHFULLY READ AND STUDY THE BIBLE, THE HOLY SPIRIT DIRECTS US TO GOD'S ANSWERS AND HIS TRUTH. ONLY BY KNOWING WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS CAN WE PROTECT OURSELVES FROM THOSE WHO SEE THINGS THAT AREN'T THERE, WHO CLAIM THINGS ABOUT GOD NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WORLD.

BEING GROUNDED IN SCRIPTURE GIVES US THE ABILITY TO SEPARATE TRUTH FROM FALSEHOOD, GOD'S WORD FROM THE PHANTOMS OF HUMAN IMAGINATION.

BELOVED, BELIEVE NOT EVERY SPIRIT, BUT TRY THE SPIRITS WHETHER THEY ARE OF GOD; BECAUSE MANY FALSE PROPHETS ARE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD. 1 JOHN 4:1

The past two weeks have been pretty hard with the passing of my mother. I have been spending more time in God's Word searching for passages that will help me gain more strength. God has shown me where to find healing and comforting scriptures and slowly I'm beginning to lose some of the hurt losing Mom. Not wanting to watch a Nascar Race when my neighbor invited me to her house to watch it. I felt like I was betraying Mom by watching it and she is not here to enjoy it with me. I guess I still have some healing to do.

Again thank you my friends for your support and kind messages you have sent me. I feel I have a huge extended family that we can all reach out to each other for comfort. God bless you each and everyone.

    Hello Joan.
I'm sure what Avanell shared with you helped a lot as well as all the other comments. Healing is different with each person. It took me longer because I wallowed in what if this or that. Even when The Holy Spirit showed me that my mother was ready to go many times my heart ached. But when I woke up on her birthday one year I jumped up and wrote a poem and I KNEW and felt a release of that grief. You stay in His Word and know you are already released. I thank God for His manifestation in your life of total peace and comfort. He KNOWS and CARES for you dearly.
    Many Blessings Upon You!

God gives grace to get through every trail from the smallest to the biggest. Lean on the LORD.
I have learned to depend on God to be my father as I was only 8 when my dad passed away.

It's very hard losing your mom. You're not betraying her to be happy, but you just have to take your own time. Blessings to you! emoticon

Oh, sweetheart, my heart goes out to you! I felt that way when my dad went to be with Jesus. He was my mother, father and everything in between...one day it will get a bit easier and another until you will be all right. Will be praying for you!

Hang in there & be strong. You are overcoming what will probably will be the most difficult time of your life (or one of them) - it is not easy and takes time. You are doing a great job.

I like what Avanell said, that's how we should look at it.

Joan, when I lost my husband I would go to his grave-site and cry because I knew that his body was so close and yet he was so far away. When I would leave I would always say, "Larry, I wish you were here". One day as I was leaving, I got in my car and a song was playing on the radio that said "don't cry for me; I'm running on streets of gold, worshiping my savior". At the end of the song it said, "I wish you were here". All of a sudden the Lord opened my eyes to see that even if Larry could come back he wouldn't want to because he was free from the pain of a sick body and he was running and praise the Lord on streets of gold. That caused me to realize that even though he had gone on to be with the Lord that life for me was still here. It was still the life that God had planned for me and it was a good life; there was still things that God wanted me to experience and do and that someday I, too, would be running on streets of gold, worshiping my Savior. But not yet.

In that very instance, God used that song to tie my earthly thinking to His spiritual thinking. It was a turning point for me. Your mother would want you to live life to the fullest. She would want you to experience the joy of a NASCAR race because you loved it just as she did. You still have a life here on earth. Your time has not come to go be with the Lord and God has a good plan for you here in this earthly realm. He has a work for you to do here. Your mother's race is over but you are still in your race. Don't let the enemy of your soul burden you with condemnation or cares. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and run your race! You are a winner!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. My prayer is that before too long, Nascar and other things you enjoyed together will be a sweet reminder of good times with your mother. It will come. And in this season of loss, you are very wise to seek comfort in the One who will never fail to give it.

    Your message is so true.
It is difficult to lose a monther. You know where she is but that does not take away the thought of her. I was in my 70's when I lost my mother. Most people don't get to have a mother over 70 years.
I was the oldest child and mom was 99 1/2 years old when she went to be with Jesus.
May God bless you and give you peace and comfort.
