Book Review: Choose More Loose More

I finished reading this book and thought I'd share my thoughts.

It was an awesome book! If you are looking for a good solid nutrition plan and some inspiration I definitely suggest that you read this book!

The beginning it tells a bit of the life of Chris and his wife Heidi. It tells how they met and how he became the transformation specialist that he is today.

It had a lot of journal type prompts in it. And kind of helped me dig out some inner feelings and reasons of why I gained weight.


The diet: Carb Cycling. When I first heard of this stuff I texted Jean and asked if she thought it was legit. She said yeah. That was really the whole reason I even wanted to read this book. I've been searching for a way to diet that works for me! I have fallen off the path to healthy and I really need something new. Is carb cycling for me? Maybe. The book explains the idea in depth and it really makes sense. It sounds like something I could totally do, if I was single. I'm just not sure how it would work if I tried it out with John John in my life. I talked to him about it and he said to do what I need to do. (LOL Guys, is that code for stop and go eat a big mac?!) Pretty much the diet is like this Wake up eat 30 minutes after you wake up. Then you have four more meals in the day that you eat every 3 hours. So in my schedule, the way it would work out I wouldn't eat my dinner with John because he wouldn't be home from work yet. I am still on the fence about it all. But anyways there are several different styles of it but pretty much you alternate days of eating high carb meals all day or low carb meals depending on the day of the week. Then on the 7th day you have a reward day and can eat sensible portions of anything you want. He says that this kind of fuels your metabolism to work over time. Going high then low on the carbs actually pushes your body to use the energy you have stored on your body (fat!) Sounds like a good thing!

Anywho.. That's it.. Its a good book. If you are interested its like $25 and Barnes and Noble!

    interesting. I winder if you could space your eating 3.5 hr instead of 3 so you could eat with John.

    Looks interesting. I have never quite grasped carb cycling, but I love the idea of a total cheat day. I am not sure I could do carb cycling with my hubby either. But, inam always looking for more nutrition guidance

    Thanks for sharing! Good luck! I hope you find a way to make it work for you, and your husband. I do all the cooking so when I try something new, my husband doesn't have a choice. He just has to come along for the ride. emoticon
