Baby due, grannie on the move

Our son's second child is due this weekend, so I am packing today to drive the 5 hours to his house, to be the live in sitter for my granddaughter while the hullabaloo of her sibling's birth goes on. I am really looking forward to spending some time with her, and to easing some of my son's worries about the event. They will have to travel an hour over mountain roads to reach the hospitol once labor starts. I do hope the weather holds for them. Adverse weather is no joke here. Driving weather for me tomorrow does not look too good. Morning rain is expected to turn into sleet or snow over all or part of the journey. My little Camry is ill equipted for this, tho I am experienced in driving in ice and snow. Hate sleet, however. I plan to leave early, allow for slow going, and take my time. Want to arrive in time to help pick up my granddaughter from her nursery school, meet her teachers and get OKed to pick her up if needed next week. Wish me luck, or better, say a prayer! I really prefer staying inside with a mug of hot tea and a good book in our winter mix weather, but for family, needs must!
