Whole30 - Round 2 - Day 5

I thought by now it would be getting easier.
Nope.
At least, not tonight.

I'm not sure if I've just gotten into such a habit of snacking at night that the "ugly" of my sweet tooth is coming out now - or if I'm just not fully committed to attempting to make it through this time around - or if carb flu is just not yet going away and I'm in denial.

What I do know is that I have desperately wanted to eat anything sweet. Anything. Bread. Marshmallows. Jelly. Juice. Ice Cream. Soda. Crystal Light. Anything.

So how has today gone food wise?

Breakfast - scrambled eggs with bell pepper, tomato, spinach, and kalamata olives
Lunch - Mixed Greens, broccoli, cauliflower, bell pepper, chicken, and homemade mayo as dressing, a small apple
Dinner - slow cooked pork roast, butternut squash.... AND PINEAPPLE

And was that the best tasting pineapple I have ever eaten ever.
EVER.
I savored it.
I enjoyed it.
I decided I must buy some more fruit tomorrow. MUST.

I also broke down after a cup of hot tea did not diminish the sweet tooth cravings and had a gulp of almond milk and a small handful of raisins.

Now I'm going to have some water, and probably head to bed. I'm tired. This no caffeine after noon is both bad and good. I am sleeping better now which is a huge plus. I just feel so foggy at the end of the day still.

Exercise did not happen today. I was tired. I was chilly. I was grumpy wanting the sweets that I was not going to have. I decided that today would be perfectly OK to just push back the exercise. In hindsight, it may have done wonders.

I did channel some of my "moody" energy into goodness of reading a book I checked out of my church's library several weeks ago and nearly forgot about. I got the first several chapters read and am GREATLY enjoying it. It sparked some awesome discussion between my son and I and with my hubs as well.

Hubs forgot to check his sugars this morning. I will remember to remind him tomorrow. I'm hoping we see it trend down again. That would be AWESOME.

Tomorrow is Day 6. So close to getting to the first week under our belts. I will overcome the sugar monster... I'll start by praying specifically about this tonight and first thing tomorrow.

Day Five.... Survived.
