Another Benefit Of Aspirin
Saturday, October 26, 2013
Women who took a 100-milligram aspirin every other day were less likely to receive a diagnosis of colon cancer after 10 years than women who took a placebo, according to an analysis of data from almost 34,000 participants in the Women's Health Study. It's too early to recommend taking aspirin for cancer prevention alone (in part because it also increases the risk of gastro-intestinal bleeding), but the findings suggest another benefit for women already taking the pills for heart-health purposes.
