Telling stories and sharing things with others comes naturally for most of us. When we find out news, we can’t wait to tell others to see if we can be the first to share it. It gives us a sense of power knowing we have something to tell that another may not yet know. However, the most important news we could ever share is about Jesus. We are told to tell everyone about Him how He was appointed by God to deliver us from evil and to judge everyone both living and dead. Now that is something to share!
Acts 10:42 “And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us today to think about what we are sharing with others. Some things we decide to share are just not important. Some things we decide to share just stir things up and cause dissention. Some things we decide to share only cause problems. Help us to share only what is good, what is lovely and what is perfect so we are only sharing Good News about You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God wants us to listen twice as much as we talk. We know it and we need to begin doing it.
Sharing things with others just to show off isn’t sharing things about God.
Jesus is the one appointed by God to judge us all. There is no other judge no matter what anyone else may say.
When people share things about others they probably shouldn’t, our responsibility is to be sure that we don’t repeat it.
If we want arguments to end, we need to stop talking about people to others.
Proverbs 26:20 “Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.” (NLT)
