Thought and Prayer for Saturday, November 23, 2013

When we think about judgment and ridicule, the person who dealt with it the most was Jesus. He endured constant criticism. He endured accusations. He endured judgment for everything He did. He quickly reminded the people He was not on earth to judge others. His purpose was to save the world. He stayed focused and didn’t let anything or anyone distract Him. When we find our purpose from God – the reason He put us here – we will be in a better position to focus on that rather than judging the world and everything in it.

John 8:15 “You judge me by human standards, but I do not judge anyone.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to focus on the right things. Help us to focus on what Your will is for us and to fulfil Your purpose for us while we are on earth. When others want to judge us or when we feel the need to judge others, quickly remind us that we are not here to judge. Help us to stay focused on doing Your will and nothing else. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we know our purpose, we can stay focused on that rather than judging others.

Finding out what we need to do for God and others in this world is easy.

The harder part is staying focused on His plan for us when there are so many distractions.

God has a reason for us to be here on earth. Our first job is to find that reason and the second is to begin doing it.

Judgment distracts the one who judges and the one being judged. And that is just want the devil wants. Let’s focus on God today rather than judging others.

God sent His son to the world to save it…not to judge it.

John 3:17 “God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” (NLT)
