Thought and Prayer for Friday, November 29, 2013

Friday, November 29, 2013

If we think about yesterday’s actions, thoughts or words, we may have some regrets. We may have said or done something we wished we wouldn’t have done. We may have spoken without thinking. We may have missed an opportunity to good. We may have thought things about another person that God would not be pleased with. That is why it is so important for us to remember we will be judged for whatever we say or do and ask God to help us control our words, our thoughts and our actions.

James 2:12 “So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we are so quick to do something without thinking. We are so quick to take action or say something as a reaction to what someone else did. Help us today to come to You before we think, before we act and before we talk. Help us to remember that in whatever we say or whatever we do, we will be judged. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

People can tell what we mean in our words by the actions we take when we say them.

When our words and actions are selfish, we aren’t pleasing God or helping others.

Living for God requires us to be selfless and giving in our words and in our actions.

How we treat those we love and those who love is an indication of who we really are.

When we find ourselves treating strangers better than we treat our family, it may be time to change our attitudes and habits.

Matthew 7:2 “For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.”
