I have completed my indoor cardio and strength excercises four days this week and walked 3 times. My goal last week was to not let November go totally wasted. I think that's been acheived.
My father is now out of hospital and home, I have to find sheltered housing for him now where there are warden's to keep an eye out for him if he decides to go wandering again. I was at the hospital for hours at a time for two days and could not get home to eat lunch or dinner. The first day I grabbed oven baked chicken wings. Yesterday I bought a lowish fat sandwich (it was horrible!) and then had crisps and a diet coke. I bought those at a shop which had some perfectly good fruit on show outside. Afterwards I said to myself -'I should have grabbed a couple of fruit or a couple of carrots instead of the crisps and water instead of that mindless diet coke (also horrible)'. That's my strategy next time. Better still slip some fruit in my bag when on the way out or a few nuts and seeds (I started doing that but forgot, because I was having my meals at home for quite a while now until this crisis)
In the Winter I like hot foods better than cold. I need to find somewhere that will do a simple hot soup that I can have with a wholemeal roll or a baked potato with beans, cheese or tuna, I need to search my town centre for healthy food options. The supermarkets are probably better than the fast food outlets - who seem to be catering for young people and seem to fry everything.
