Being Kind..should be a habit not a choice

Thursday, December 12, 2013

I just read a blog written by a lovely lady. She was referring to the fact that a person sent her a very hurtful comment & it had caused this person to just shut down for a time. How cruel we are here in this supposed cyberland..there are still emotions to consider. We should as adults know & accept that words are cruel weapons & can cut worse than any knife.

I realize there will always be naysayers that discount the wisdom of words from men such as the Dali Lama or from Scripture ..or even just from a wise person. At times my heart just cries for what we could be,,,what we could do..where we could be if we were less selfish & kinder of thought & action.

That would be a lovely thing if everytime we saw a need we extended a hand to help.

I was humbled by the reply this person made..she exibited such wisdom & insight.

My thoughts are in a jumble, how can anyone be cruel on a medium like this? How can anyone feel they are achieving anything by sending negative out into the world? & lastly how can anyone purposely harm another without any reward at all. I mean..at least in person you can see how they react, you can see the hurt or the tears or hear the anger. Here on this medium you send out "things" & often that is the last you see or hear of it. I am not saying that it is OK to do the above in person..but I am mystified to the core at why ..why...why!!!

So that is my rant for the nite..I am saddened to learn that "bullying" occurs even here..
My thought..my wish is ..as follows...

good night my friends..may tomorrow find your hearts filled with joy.

Thank you for the goodie. And thanks for this blog. I like to think that kindness is a gift but it is also a responsibility. The Dali Lama is right on that.

Thank you for the taking the time to write this blog. I read that particular blog as well and could feel the blogger's pain through the words she wrote....I was also inspired by her strength.

I've seen a few blogs today about kindness. I've had remarks and comments that make me back off and want to withdraw and it is very hard to understand

You know, I was thinking about kindness just today. A friend of mine posted something on FB something like, "If you are not kind online, then you are not kind, period." I personally am always very careful what I put online, or at least I try to be. I think three times before posting anything even questionable, and I have been known to edit or delete even something I have thought three times before posting. So I honestly think I can say that I am not unkind online.

However, in real life, I find that I have very little patience with incompetence and/or stupidity. And in consequence I am often short-tempered and unkind. Case in point: today I got a call from the computer repair place to please come and pick up my computer. Well, they only fixed it yesterday, so I really don't think they needed to be nagging me one day later - sooooo I was starting out already a bit annoyed. Then, after they told me they are open until six, and I came to the store at 5:33 only to find the door locked, well, I was pretty mad. I called them, and, no, I wasn't kind; I was angry. If you run a business and you tell your customers that you are open until six, well, you had just better be open until six!

So I don't know where to draw the line always...but I do agree that being kind online is absolutely essential.
