Well I think I've had the longest week ever and it all started around 2 am on Monday. I'm not going to tell the entire story, because there's just too many details. But long story short... Monday night I had a really bad pain in the upper right portion of my abdomen, I thought it was a gas pain, but nothing relieved it. (TMI moment ahead) After vomiting a couple of times and seeing blood in it, and trying every remedy my parents and I could think I decided it was time to go to the ER. By 2 am Tuesday I learned that I had gallstones. The story does not end there, because that particular ER sent me home with some meds and told me that it's not something that's urgent and to contact a surgeon within a few days. Well the pain persisted and my mom took me to another ER where I learned that not only did I have gallstones, but my gallbladder was filled with gallstones and it was inflamed. I had my first surgery Thursday night/Friday morning. It wasn't that bad, I just feel really sore, tired and after not eating food for almost 5 days extremely hungry. What I learned from this situation is that when it comes to your health you always need to listen to your body and get a second opinion. The surgeon told me after the surgery that my gallbladder was really bad and extremely inflamed. I'm not trying to scare anyone, but you never know what can happen. Last week I felt fine, going to the gym, and eating right; this week I was in danger of my gallbladder rupturing. Thank God that situation is over and I am on the road to recovery! Just thought I'd share my story hope you all have a great weekend!
