Worship was good this morning and it was nice going as a complete family again. The message of three gifts God gives us through the birth of Jesus (forgiveness, peace and eternal life) was delivered from a huge gift box that had been used as a decoration and receptacle for members to place gifts to God inside during the month of December. Naturally there were gifts inside the box for him to hunt for and use as props. He loves to add humor and dramatic flair to his messages. We also stayed for the first part of 2nd hour as Maegann was singing "Angels We Have Heard on High" which was her winter recital piece. She did a nice job. After all the "yuck" with the previous church she has endured my heart is happy seeing her so content and enjoying a church family again. Answered prayer!
After lunch we all got busy taking down the Christmas tree and other inside decorations. I had been struggling with allergies all morning (must have been a perfume that set me off at church) and by then the Benadryl was kicking in and I was sleepy. Then the dust from the tree got me going again so I went ahead and took another one and then once the boxes were tucked away in the garage I went and took an hour-long nap. Feeling much better tonight. Still have the lights on the outside fence to take down, but will do that one afternoon this week.
Tonight I've been Sparking and just enjoying blogs and encouragement from others. Starting to see signs of the "January Joiners" who are ready to make a difference in their health as the New Year is upon them. I say "Welcome!" and "You can do it!"
Tomorrow morning I will take my dad to the lab for his draw that he needs prior to his doctor appointment the following week. Once home I'm hoping we can get some school accomplished before J.T. arrives to "hang out" with Maegann for a few hours while his brother and mom go shopping. J.T. is a sweet boy from our playgroup (also a spectrum child) and he and Maegann have a special friendship.
5% Challenge - Team Daisy: Today's pre-challenge assignment was to make sure our Spark Page was current. I just did this a week or so ago thanks to a similar challenge with the BL team so that made it easy!
My recumbent bike has been out of commission since mid-November due to travel and then by being moved into a corner so a large Christmas tree could take over the living room. I plan to ride tomorrow if only for 15 minutes! I've missed it!
And the Wii Fit time has not seen much action lately either. Mainly due to lack of time, but it was also more difficult because I did not have as much open space in the living room. I plan to get this back in the rotation beginning Jan. 1.
