It has been a very nice New Year's Day at our house. We all slept in until 9 a.m. and then did some quiet activities on our own for a time before Maegann and I headed out to see "Frozen." She was so surprised! We both enjoyed the movie very much...especially Olaf the Snowman. While we did that Tim took Isaac to Burger King for lunch. A treat Isaac rarely gets. Once home it wasn't long before the people arrived to take the piano. That corner where it has sat for about 15+ years looks bare now. We did move the aquarium over which has helped and the dining area looks much larger. Next I put some more items on Craigslist and then some Sparking before putting supper together. Tonight...probably just a movie on TV.
On the exercise front.... I had planned some bike time, but with the addition of the movie and then cleaning due to the piano I figured that was enough for today as I did spent time doing abs/strength first thing. I will keep on the planned schedule tomorrow with Wii Fit.
Tomorrow... school with the kids and Isaac's group therapy in the afternoon. Should be a fairly quiet day!
BL Challenge - Team Emerald: Tomorrow is our team's Week 3 weigh-in. I'll admit...#2 was a rugged one for all the BL teams, but I was so proud of Emerald for facing the scale and putting it out there whichever way it went for them that day! Overall, we did okay and pulled a 6th place for weight loss within 13 teams. We're still hanging on strong to the #1 spot for Cardio! Go Emerald!
5% Challenge - Team Daisy
I was surprised yesterday with so many goodies and notes from 5% members as I had been selected as a Motivating Member. I honestly had forgotten, or never saw the information, that I had been the biggest loser for the entire 5% Fall challenge. To see the numbers was a "Wow!" moment for me! I have had a somewhat stalled December (the why I posted in yesterday's blog) and this encouragement was just what I needed to pick myself up and feel good about how far I've come in a short time! Thank you 5% challenge leaders and members for the positive boost into the new year at just the right moment!
I have not posted a couple of the pre-Winter challenge assignments so I'm making up for that today.
#4: Win Today Checklist (Set goals I need to accomplish for a successful day.)
*Have meal plan in place for the day.
*Have my exercise on the daily schedule like an appointment.
*Go over the daily family schedule so I can plan accordingly.
#5: Win Tomorrow Checklist (Do my homework so I can succeed tomorrow.)
This is pretty much the same as #4 for me. Meal plans (I do a week or two at a time.), exercise plan and making sure I check the family schedule and my GTasks so I'm not blindsided.
#6: Motivation (List all the reasons I want to lose weight and/or other things I want to change.)
*I want to have more energy.
*I want to feel confident instead of self-conscious about my size.
*I want a healther body inside.
*I want a longer life with my family.
*I am worth it! (My word for 2014 is "believe" and part of that is believing I am worth it.)
Happy New Year (from "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young)
Come to Me with a teachable spirit, eager to be changed. A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness. Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year. Instead, seek My Face with an open mind, knowing that your journey with Me involves being transformed by the renewing of your mind.
As you focus your thoughts on Me, be aware that I am fully attentive to you. I see you with a steady eye, because My attention span is infinite. I know and understand you completely; My thoughts embrace you in everlasting Love.
I also know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Give yourself fully to this adventure of increasing attentiveness to My Presence.
Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. -Romans 12:2 NCV
I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.” -Jeremiah 29:11 NCV
