Prepping in Kitchen for the week ahead!

Sunday, January 05, 2014

Every Sunday afternoon, I spend several hours in the kitchen prepping for the week ahead. I chop up all my veggies (cauliflower, radishes, cucumbers, broccoli, carrots etc.) and put some in a large salad bowl (with different types of lettuce for dinner time salad) and the rest into individual baggies to grab and go for work during the week. I also cook a lot of chicken on my Foreman Grill and cut up into 2 ounce portions and also put into individual sandwich bags. Finally, I open cans of pineapple and put into 1/2 cup portions as well as cut up oranges/grapefruits to bring along to work. I also boil eggs for my breakfast during the week. Doing this preparation helps me to stay on track during my busy week and contributes to my ongoing success! Have a great week to all my Spark Friends!

emoticon AND ~ that is why you are successful! :)

I am just starting to get into doing this "seriously" again, after all the holidays, kids out of school, etc. (They get 2 weeks off in Canada) Although, I don't go to as much work as you do since I am retired and have more time on my hands. But, that has its drawbacks, as well, since I am usually within sight of the frig! ;)

Just in case you are thinking that "Kids do not equal Retirement" ~ lol ~ I have a son who has autism that lives with me and I am raising my first-born grandson. He is 13. I am blessed! emoticon

sounds like a great plan,I'm doing similar whenever I have my 'Big' money coming in,stocking up on ingredients, making recipes in bulk and storing them in th efreezer for later in the week, cuts down on time, mess and really helps when I'm feeling too lazy to cook
