A Lazy Start to 2014

I am sorry to say I am not off to a good start for 2014. I was off vacationing in Florida when the year began so I never sat down and wrote any goals for the year. My vacation weight maintenance was successful and I began to get a bit cocky about my ability to do this by rote. I have not gained (I don't think) but I have started to develop some less than stellar habits.
So......today I start a new streak. My goals for the year are to average at least 10,000 steps per day with at least 10 flights of stairs. For the 5% challenge that means 560,000 steps and 560 flights of stairs. I will track daily and stay within my ranges. Also during the challenge I will average at least 3 strength training workouts and three flexibility workouts per week or 24 of each during the challenge.
You may have noticed that I did not set a weight loss goal. While I would love to lose my 5% I understand that I do not control the speed of weight loss. I can only control what goes into my mouth and how much energy I expend. What my body does with that is not up to me. This saves me a lot of frustration.
