Will Power being put to the test

Saturday, January 18, 2014

A friend stopped by for a visit today. He is a smoker and went outside a couple times to smoke. I love going out on the porch and just chatting so joined him. Was tempted to ask for a cigarette and I know if I had asked he would have given me one. My boyfriend was right there and was my sounding board, if I had insisted he would not have stopped me but he did ask some simple questions that made me think about it. In the end I didn't ask for one.

Tomorrow or later today actually, we will be going to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner. Doing the hibachi cooking side. Have been using the wonderful world of the internet for how to stay within my dietary goals. Prefer to look at them as goals instead of restrictions. I do not see this as putting restrictions on myself just learning how to eat right with goals in mind. I know I will go for either chcken breast or salmon for the protein. I am hoping they have low sodium soy sauce and will go light on it if I request. Will limit my portion sizes, besides I love having leftovers means I don't have to cook the next day. With having chili leftover from tonight I can have two nights of no cooking, woohoo. Normally I go to places where I can see their menu online with nutrition info but I feel confident I have learned enough I can make healthy decisions without that info listed for me. I do not see food the same way as I did before logging.

I am looking forward to this night out and see it as a test for me.
