Couch to 5k, or It's getting better all the time.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

In the last little bit I have been stuck on weight, but more to the point since a couple of weeks ago I have been back on my couch to 5K and started where I left off before the snow started last year. In the last couple of weeks I have been tracking my runs, as well as doing the program and on Saturday before my sword class I did my program and then walked a second lap around the park before class. Yesterday, My wife and I hiked a mile, then I ran last night. As far as my weight goes, I have plateaued and it is making me crazy so I have stopped watching it. Yes, I want to do well with the work weight loss thing, but at this point it is more about running faster and longer, and adding in my weight lifting to get better numbers. I figure that if I can run a 5K in good time, or lift more than I could before, and am eating right, yes the number will be high, but it will work itself better if my eating is right and I keep it up. I feel like I am making progress, and as I draw to the end of week 4 of 9 on the couch to 5K, I am feeling like my intervals are getting better, and though I am tempted to take big breaks when it feels like my legs are burning I am pushing through it and feeling better about it afterwards.
It is progress, and that is much better than where I was a few months back.
