How not to do it...

I received this in my mail box this morning. I need to forward this to my friend, this describes her to a "T"! She had a revelation, not necessarily on January 1st, and started her diet. She works out for an hour or two in the morning, jogs a couple of miles afterwards. Then, before she goes and gets her daughter she works out again, sometimes with her daughter as well. This was every day! Her meals are planned out perfectly via one of her apps. One meal was 6oz of tuna fish, a teaspoon of mayonnaise, an apple, and six cups of mixed greens. Needless to say, she could not finish her food! She was forcing herself to finish!
So, one day, she got sick. Months of doctors trying to find out what is wrong with her and fix the problem lead her to give up on her diet and exercise program (mind you, she has only been doing this for about four months when she "dropped out"). She was getting lazy about the gym, going only a couple of days a week. Her diet started to change. She was drinking coffee again when she had quit, smoking again when she had quit. Not eating the healthiest meals and going out drinking at least twice a week. She got bad, real bad, real fast.
She is slowly getting back into her "groove". She is working out daily, just not as much. She has stopped going out drinking so much, and she is eating healthier. I don't know if she is going to the extremes she has before, but she has completely cut out processed foods. I hope this is a lifestyle change for her, one she can keep up, rather than her going full-force into exercise and diet changes and getting burnt out quickly. Her body can't take much more!
"They wake up on January 1st and decide to lose weight so they join a gym. They take spin 5 days a week, after which they spend 30 minutes doing abs. They come back later in the day to lift weights for an hour. On Saturdays they do back to back pilates and kickboxing classes. They workout nearly 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. They follow the top 100 fitness models on Facebook and they read blogs from Paleo fanatics, Eat Clean experts, they hear about Jennifer Aniston just getting her post baby six pack from the Zone diet.. There’s just SO MUCH INFORMATION OUT THERE!!!!! And they try to follow every single thing they hear perfectly, until one day, they break down. "
