LOL! I have got to get myself back into walking before I can go too far at all!
We live in a rural community and the highway and side roads are busy (and no sidewalks) and the local walking trail will not be useable now for another month or so due to melting snow and Spring rains. But from May to November we can walk safely here. At 70, and never having taken up the sport of hiking, and being full of arthritis since my teen years, I can't hike and can only walk or use our small boat on the lake where our cottage is. I have an elliptical machine so have no excuse for not using it daily...which I did not do this past winter.
We love to use our boat in warm months! So much to see in our pristine lake-- trout, eels, muskrats, (once had a bank beaver), ducks, loons, pollywogs, dragonflies, toads and frogs, many turtles, and kingfishers. Our bats got a disease and died off...very unhappy about that, but swallows try to keep the bugs down for us.
Well enough of my story. You are a great inspiration, and spur me on- to get at it! Have a great weekend, Jackie. 2085 days ago
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I love the quote, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step." It reminds me that this is a journey and every step we take brings us closer to our goal--a healthy life.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day! 2085 days ago
