Found a book in a used book store for 50 cents while on my birthday holiday; Food--Your Miracle Medicine--How Food Can Prevent and Cure over 100 Symptoms and Problems (Paperback) by Jean Carper. Really interesting. I've started drinking a tablespoon of olive oil every day (got the good stuff at a Farmer's Market, not the junk they sell in the grocery store) and eating 3+ cloves of garlic a day (found garlic stuffed olives at the same market).
Also eating a tablespoon of Fenugreek seeds, which are supposed to be as good for diabetes treatment as the drug Metformin, which I'm trying to stop taking. Just think, if we could find real food substitutes for the drugs doctor push on us with all the lousy side effects, we could all start taking better control of our health!
