The joys of self sufficiency

I've been on my own since my ex left 18 years ago. I'm a single mother and my lovely DD is coming home next week after her 1st year of college. I pride myself on being able to do a lot around the house, as a woman, on my own.
I have 2 beautiful cats that I rescued, Meeko & Blue.
Meeko likes to chew on things, like the cords on window blinds! What a lovely result! But being that I am self reliant, I measured the windows and bought 2 blinds (for $4 each!) which I was able to hang by myself!
Before: Meeko's blind design
After: The new blind
I wanted to get a keypad on my garage door so that guests, family, or friends would be able to come into my house without having to have a key (and I have a weird key that costs $50 for each extra one!) I saved almost $40 by having the keypad mailed to me and then I drilled it into the wall and programmed it myself. So rather than spending $200 to have extra keys made, I spent $65 and didn't have to pay for installation as I did it myself.
These are the joys of self sufficiency. What can/do you do to make yourself proud?
