It has been a long time since I blogged so thought I would try this again. Before, I was blogging just to try to keep my sanity where I was living. Since moving her almost three years ago, I am so much happier and content and I love living smack in the middle of town on the hill above main street. A five minute walk to the drugstore, 10 minutes to Safeway and about 15 minutes to the town center.
We are losing another resident next week. She is almost 96 and going to assisted living. When I first came here there were many in their 90's but they have passed on now and younger people are moving in. You have to be 62 and within a certain monthly income to live here. Rent is 30% of our income.
I keep busy Sparking and helping people here. We are having a Spring Sale Mother's Day weekend, Friday and Saturday, so several of us will be selling our new and used items, odds and ends and there will be a bake sale. Ruth always buys a case of those little loaves of bread and bakes them. People come here to buy them and check out our bake sale. We have many good bakers here. We will donate 10% of our sales to our treasury that we use to buy coffee and supplies for our community kitchen downstairs. We have a potluck every Sunday because those who have caregivers don't have one on Sunday. This way they get a hot meal and take home leftovers for supper.
I have a fitbit/zip and am working on getting more steps in everyday, cooking my meals from scratch and tracking my food everyday.
Until next time.
