May Goals {and April results update}

First, here are the goals I had at the beginning of April:

~ 10K steps daily
~ At least 45 mins exercise daily
~ Track all food daily (either on SP or in a notebook)
~ Get 8 - 10 cups of water daily
~ Strength train 30 mins x 3 days a week
~ Lose 5 - 6 pounds

And here are my results:

~ 10K steps daily.
I hit my 10K steps daily goal all but two days in April. I'm totally ok with that. Both days I didn't get my goal were on Sundays (my hardest day to fit in fitness). One day my tracker only registered 8 steps for the entire day... and I'm pretty sure I did more than that. :) But that's ok, it's fixed now. My total steps for April was 320,417 which averages out to 10,680 steps a day. And that's including that weird day where it only registered the eight steps. Woohoo!
~ At least 45 mins exercise daily.
I got over 30 minutes each day, but there were four days that I got less than 45 minutes. I averaged 78 minutes per day for the month though, for a total of 2,356 fitness minutes. That's by far the most I've ever done in a month. Even back in my pre-pregnancy and really fit days I didn't do that well. lol
~ Track all food daily (either on SP or in a notebook).
I skipped a few days (only about 3-4) for the entire month. Sometimes I would log it into SP, just to make sure I was still on track. But usually I just jot everything down in my notebook. It's really made me mindful about what I put in my mouth!
~ Get 8 - 10 cups of water daily.
This isn't a problem for me. I love water almost as much as I love coffee and I rarely drink anything more than those two drinks. I totally rocked this part of the challenge during April.
~ Strength train 30 mins x 3 days a week.
Since I'd been very lax in my ST routine lately, I knew this would be a stretch (pardon the pun). I did not complete this goal, but I did make good progress each week. I did at least two 30 minute sessions each week, and I'm happy with that. Progress, not perfection!
~ Lose 5 - 6 pounds.
This was my dream goal for April. Usually I lose 3-4 pounds a month (if I'm lucky). I knew actually achieving my 5-6 pound goal would be unlikely. And with that being said, I'm very, VERY pleased to report that I lost a total of 5.8 pounds!! I couldn't believe it! I am so proud of myself!

And now that my happy dance is finally over (for the moment), I need to get down to it and write out my May goals. Since what I did for April seems to have worked for me, I think it would be wise to stick to about the same goals for this month.

MAY GOALS
~ 10K steps daily
~ At least 45 mins exercise daily
~ 2,500 fitness minutes for the month
~ Track all food daily (either on SP or in a notebook)
~ Get 8 - 10 cups of water daily
~ Strength train 30 mins x 3 days a week
~ Lose 5 - 6 pounds

I hesitate to write down both the 2,500 fitness minutes goal and the 5 - 6 pounds goal... but that's what I want to achieve this month, I'm just not sure how attainable it is. :) Wish me luck!
