Thought and Prayer for Monday, May 12, 2014

Monday, May 12, 2014

Our actions and words reveal our wisdom. Sometimes saying nothing at all is wise. Other times we need to speak out. Wise words can help us and others to do the right thing. Wisdom from God is the wisdom we should all seek. He tells us the wisdom from above is like no other wisdom we can get from the world. Wisdom from God is pure, loving, gentle, merciful and good. Seeking God’s wisdom is the wisest thing we can do.

James 3:17 “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to focus on seeking wisdom from You today. Help us to live as You call us to live and follow Your instruction in all things. We know Your wisdom is pure, gentle, loving and good. When we seek Your wisdom and obey You, we will be better able to help others. Help us, today, to seek wisdom, show mercy and be gentle with others in all we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Seeking God’s wisdom is what He calls us to do.

Wisdom from God can help us to help others.

Wisdom from God is pure and gentle.

Wisdom from God shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

Wisdom from God is always about helping others and doing the right things.

Colossians 1:28 “So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.” (NLT)

Focus: Let’s seek God’s wisdom from His word and through prayer so we can better help others.
