at peace with this method

I'm the type of person who needs a method. Hence, my numerous starts and stops with weight watchers. I've never been interested in programs like Jenny Craig, nutrisystem, etc because it isn't real food, it's a packaged food. While it may be real food, it's not food prepared by me. Hence the attraction to weight watchers. What bugged me about ww was the ads it had on their website in sour if the fact I was paying. Also the celebrity endorsements. It's almost as if people wouldn't listen to their message unless a celebrity endorsed them.
I know sp has ads on it, but it's to keep it free. I can deal with that. I love the colorful new format and emphasis on goal setting. Coming back to spark people has energized me again. I'm at peace again. I've been guilty of buying a lot of books. I'm interested in nutrition so I have purchased quite a few books on paleo, etc. While I'm still interested in this, I'm taking a break to just track my food, walk, and breathe. No rules. My only rule for myself is to honor myself by not binging on junk, eating a bunch of processed food. That's all. Just breathing, enjoying life. I am not my weight.

    You can do this! Whole real foods are so much better for you. When I first started getting rid of the processed junk I didn't realize how good veggies tasted... now I can taste the sweetness in them that before my taste buds had been dulled to! It's awesome realizing that what's better for you tastes better, too!

    Eat real, whole food. Simplest rule out there. That seems to be the way you're trending, and that's a good thing!

    Carebear, I believe you also belong to the 10K team...tracking your steps??? I picked up a book at the library call the Step Diet. If your library has it you might find it interesting to skim it. they reinforce a lot of what SP tells us. I have been at the same weight for quite awhile now and from reading the book realize I need to increase my step to beyond what I am doing. I do get 10,000 a day but I am going to see if I can reach 11,500-12,000 a day and see if that gets the scale moving again. We all have to figure out what works for us. Glad you will be with us for the summer. emoticon
