May 20, 2014 WE ARE MADE GREAT
So many times we beat ourselves up when we don’t follow through with something we should have done. Other times we get upset with ourselves because of how we look or our limited income. Some of us are always wishing for more and desiring a better life. However, we are not made great by the things of the world. We are made great by the gentleness of God. When we stop focusing on worldly things to make us great and focus on God, we will realize we have all we need for greatness because of who He is and not because of anything else we have.
2 Samuel 22:36 “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.” (KJV)
Dear Lord, thank You for Your gentleness. Thank You for the shield of salvation. We know You are all we need to be great. Greatness doesn’t come from the things of the world. It comes from You. Help us to dig into Your world and into Your word today so we may seek Your face and find Your gentleness. We thank You, Lord, for creating us for a purpose and making us great. Help us to find our purpose for You and use what You have given us to help others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We are made great only by God. Nothing on earth can make us any greater.
God’s gentleness, His compassion and love has made us great.
When we begin to focus on God and stop focusing on the things of the world, we will realize how great we really are because of God.
God can give us all we need with what He has. His gentleness, His love and His mercy can make us great.
God didn’t create us to feel sorry for ourselves and to dwell on what we don’t have. He created us to be great using what we do have.
2 Corinthians 4:7 “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” (NLT)
Focus: Focus on God’s gentleness, love and mercy. Remember He created you to be great and nothing in the world can do what He can.
