I can do what I can do

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

One of my biggest challenges is remembering to take things in stride. This is a challenge not just in my pursuit of health and wellness, but in general terms.

I am reminding myself again that experiencing a plateau in weight loss is in no way a failure. It is more accurately a reminder to me to set forth on new challenges, mix it up! It is not as if I am not experiencing positive results, even without pounds lost... I had an experience very similar to that of one of my Spark friends - slipping easily into a pair of shorts that would not have come close to fitting four months ago. Reading her blog about what a great feeling that gave her was a great reminder that success comes in a variety of forms.

I am also reminding myself that on this Tuesday that feels like a Monday, it is easy to feel behind even though the work week has just begun. This is a feeling I need to simply let pass. I can only do what I can do - and there is no need (at least in my job) to put pressure on myself to accomplish in four days what I normally would in five.

Note to self: I am strong and capable, which is really great. I can do what I can do, and there is no need to feel bad when I have put in my best effort!
