What is up with sizing?

One of the goals I set for myself back in January was that I would comfortably wear a size 18 by the 4th of July. Unfortunately, I did not specify the BRAND of clothing in which I would fit into that size 18. I have purchased new shorts for the summer in size 18. They are super comfortable and even after washing they are fitting great, loose even. Yesterday I bought a skirt that is very cute and flattering in a size 20. I have some old clothes that I have not been able to wear for a couple years that are fitting well now...an array of 18s and 20s...

I guess I need a new goal - I will just go with measurements... since the clothing manufacturers don't seem to!

Lol I know this feeling well! I am in the same sizes! But I notice, and it took me a long time to realize there are 18s and 18W. I am just starting to fit into a couple of my 18s. But the 18W and 20s are more comfortable. I have been so covered up for so long those 18s seem so short! I think I just got comfortable in people seeing less of me and have to get use to the cuts of the clothes in the newer sizes. But I do notice that shirts! They are shorter than they used to be! I get lucky and find longer ones from time to time and will get one of every color. Did you notice the MOM jean cut is back, higher wasted? not as much of this hip hugger stuff .
