Today was a good day of eating.
I'm not sure exactly what I want to blog on here, but I guess it's really just for me. I want to see myself progress. Today I ate really well, and tonight as I go to bed, I'm not craving anything. That's great! No gluten today. My carbs were 134 grams - lots of veggies. I also had some fruit - berries, an apple, and some watermelon this evening. Not ready yet to cut back to no fruit. I think I'm going to see some results this month by attempting to not eat gluten.
The other thing I'm going to take note of is how my joints feels. Today I felt some stiffness, but when I got out of the car this evening it was much better. I also want to feel some improvement in my left elbow (primarily). Better today - it is hard to pick things up. That's when I feel it - only then. Getting food out of the fridge is hard to do with my left arm.
I'm on my pursuit of eating exactly the way I want to do this forever. I know I won't be perfect. That's actually part of the plan. Every day I eat on a continuum of foods - a healthier end and a less healthy or downright bad for me end. Every choice I make falls somewhere on that continuum of choices. My goal is to eat more towards the healthy end. An occasional meal from the not so good won't break me if I eat more from the healthy end. The thing is this - I'm choosing foods I like. I made this fantastic salad tonight to go with my burger/avocado entree. It was so yummy. I can do that every day (at least for the summer). While I don't think I'll eat salad every day, I do like it. I didn't eat anything today that I didn't like - just for the sake of eating healthily. I don't understand how people could drink shakes and eat bars all the time, and call that good. I make the occasional smoothie and use some good quality whey protein. I couldn't imagine having something like that for meals on and on and on. I know someone trying to get me to buy Isagenix - sorry - not something I would do forever so not gonna start.
