I Hope I Didn't Over-do It!!!!!

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

Today was an absolutely PERFECT day!!! It was 75 degrees F. with plenty of sunshine and a perfect breeze. I couldn't do too much in my gardens BEFORE my surgery but my husband was very good about keeping up with most of what needed doing. I know that I can say this to my fellow-gardeners............I love my husband...........but his idea of how a job should be done and my idea of how a job should be done are two VERY DIFFERENT ideas. We have 15 flower gardens and have had perfect growing conditions lately. Unfortunately, the conditions are perfect for the weeds too.

I went out this morning and proceeded to weed. I did six of the gardens and by the time I was finished, they looked wonderful, but I could really feel the fact that my gardening movements are not what my post surgery body was ready for. I am so sore and my back hurts so bad. I really hope that I didn't un-do anything!!!

I hope you aren't feeling too badly today after that gardening! I'm guessing you didn't actually do any damage, but the body hasn't done a lot for quite some time, and it will be talking back to you BIG TIME!!! Rest and do some very gentle stretches... VERY gentle. And take a aspirin or ibuprofen or whichever you use for aches and pains!

And I know your gardens must be beautiful!!!

I have to jump into all my flower beds each year. it definitely locks up you pelvis, and hurts your back. you need to get on all knees, not bend over, or sit where you bend over,. Then after you weed, you need to drop those seeds to stop new growth. But it doesn't totally help, cause rain, and the weather dilutes the strength of the solution after a while. I don't know what your surgery was, or is but maybe you shouldn't have done anything! I do know that sometime if you don't do it it doesn't get done.eva

I know exactly what you mean when you say... his idea of how a job should be done and my idea of how a job should be done are two VERY DIFFERENT ideas. By the way, I do love my hubby too.

I hope you did not over do it too! Take care of yourself, ok!

Oh Patti, I'm not a gardener, but I can imagine your positions while weeding. While the weather sounded perfect, you may have done better with only weeding 3 beds & between each bed took a rest. I suggest you pamper yourself tomorrow, & no weeding. Take good care, be careful, & be well. emoticon
