Day 77~Rituals

We all need 'em..call them habits or rituals, either way we need that stability that dependability in our lives to keep us in balance.



Morning coffee ..to start the day..a splash of cream & a quiet time to sip?



A cup of a favorite tea while relaxing reading a book?



Just a quiet time to refresh and renew?

All of these & more are our rituals, daily doings that we know will set the pattern for our day or our evening & help us keep our lives on a smoother path.

Since the focus of this section is Growing Stronger..this little chapter offers a lot .

One ritual that needs to be focused on & eliminated if possible is the "stuff the face when stressed" ritual! It can occur unnoticed & certainly unplanned or prepared for! Be alert to the moments when that ritual might raise its head & consider it your cobra..you need to avoid it at all costs..send out your mongoose. Ok..mongoose is the other rituals you will or have in place...tea...yoga..exercise..
a walk..dance to music..any activity or non activity that does not allow you to head to the snack attack territory!

The suggestions are to set up some healing rituals.....

music that soothes you & brings you to a better place

meditation , even a brief meditation will bring great results..& although many say they cannot mediate..it is like any other exercise practice makes it easier. Clear your mind & do not allow thoughts in..hum or make some sing songy noises but no words just soft sounds or even meditation music usually flutes or chimes or nature sounds. It is honestly one of the best things you can do for your mind & body.

When you travel tuck pics of family, a favorite book , some tea you like & home things like your slippers or soft jammies to create a feeling of contact with home & security when in a strange place.

Try out a few things ..find what works for you..then once again make time for you...tis important to know that you are worth it as the commercial says!!



and remember ..not all rituals have to be singular..you can certainly include a friend..be it a two or four legged one!!
