Checked out the Gym

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

It is a smaller facility then some of the Gym Chains out there. The staff behind the desk spoke very highly of the trainers. Met two of the trainers today. While waiting for my appt. I hopped onto a treadmill for a bit. A woman got on to the eliptical machine next to me and could tell she was unsure of the machine. One of the trainers approached her and asked if she needed help. The trainer shoswed the member proper posture and asked if she had any pain issues. The woman mentioned her knees and she started in on where to hold the hand handles, where to focus pressure on her feet and really seemed to care about the person using the equipment properly and avoiding injury to her body. I got to talk this trainer later and her interest in being a trainer is about being healthy. They are there to impart their knowledge not just collect a paycheck and it showed. Will have to look into how much it would be to have one on one sessions with the trainer on regular basis. I left feeling very good about them and what they have to offer.

On top of it I get to support a local family run business.

I was thinking about getting a membership at a gym. I would really like to get my whole family to go. I am a little intimidated by the thought though. Hopefully I can get over that and take the plunge.

I think what are doing is amazing. It is always good to support the small local community establishments. It is also good to hear that there are still some gyms that cater to those of us who are not the familiar with some of the equipment. Good luck. Keep me post on how things go at the gym.
