Day 82~Last Straw Eating....

We continue the focus on the "chain of events...or realistically, chain of emotions" that lead to eating too much or not with the program or just guzzling down anything in sight!

We all have breaking points..that Last Straw...& when it is reached we can go off the deep end for sure...no bag of choc chip cookies or chips is safe! We will find it...devour it ..then we will flog ourselves relentlessly..All to no purpose. Tis a never ending cycle till we put the brakes on.

So the suggestion & the story in this chapter could be any of us...

Tired at the Mall -Food Court temptation

Supposed to go out, no baby sitter..hubby joined friends without me!!

phone call that there is layoffs coming ..so job security is rocky..yours or his!! Either one will affect your lifestyle...without a doubt.

The list could go on & on ...however you got the idea..there is that one event..that slides into the next event..etc..etc.. till we find ourselves munching a bunch with no thought whatsoever!

The only thing to do is watch for it...be ready to put up a defense & do not let the cascade begin. Plan for what you will do ..not to set you on a pattern of worry..no rather think broadly in large strokes...if things start to slide -I will do this..eat this..call a friend..what ever it takes to keep you from the snack bar,,vending machine or pantry!

I will hint once again at my all time favorite...meditation. We are too rushed too hurried..too busy in our culture & fact is most of the time if we think about it a week later..what were we so tense & tight about? Just learning to do on the spot deep breathing & let your mind go calm & blank for a moment is almost as refreshing as a cool shower or a quick nap!
It just takes practice..just a moment or two..that will extend into more moments with time!

    Meditation on blankness doesn't work for me. Focus on Someone outside myself does. Wishing you peace and support whenever the "last straw" moments come.
