Vacation, the pup has the right idea!
The drive through the country was beautiful. Puffy clouds and lots of fields and pastures get us in the mood to relax. We drove through a wind turbine field, which I have seen before, but always is cool when we can see them up close. The boys make up stories of them being robots, funny!
The kids said that smores were a must! This is my youngest perfecting his smore.
Well, it was just for a few days to get away from home. We could have stayed so much longer and wish we had. We had some large storms roll through but didn't bother us much since we weren't tenting this time around.
We did quite a bit of walking, biking, paddle boating, swimming and playing around. Not to mention outside games. Got too much sun the last day on the lake! OUCH!!! But I think it is just shy of being at the blister point. So it should be ok. It was so much fun... so many activities!
My youngest son and I went for another bike ride in the back woods the night before we left and saw under a red flowering bush something white twitching. We cautiously got slightly closer until we could tell what it was, we thought it was a cat or rabbit. It was a baby deer! Couldn't even be a week old. I tried to take a picture with my phone without disturbing it. It wasn't too terribly scared of people, but any type of traffic rolling through. The other boys said they had seen it earlier that day in the same area.
We had some extremely large storms roll through the night before we all saw this foal. My youngest was hoping it hadn't been separated from it's mom.
All in all it was a FANTASTIC trip. We will be going back!!!! Kept active, VERY active! Kept the goodies eating to a minimum, kept my numbers in strict check!!! EVERYTHING went GREAT!!!!!!!
