haven't posted a blog in an eon....

Saturday, June 21, 2014

Between my dad's death, mom's breast cancer diagnosis, subsequent double mastectomy, college, and my work schedule, plus the kids softball and soccer I haven't written a blog in an eon...

I am potentially up for a promotion at work, SUPER excited about that because it means a raise and NO more third shift! Regular Monday thru Friday 8-4. I haven't worked a job like that..well ever. I always worked either 2nd or 3rd and I'm really hoping this whole scenario pans out or I'm going to have to really start looking elsewhere for something that pays a bit more money to help with my upcoming student loan payments. I am exhausted like 90% of the time and I eat like crap because I have no time. Things at work are going to hit the fan after today because right now there are only two of us that work third shift and both of us asked for the 4th of July off and since I asked for it off first and I covered my coworker being gone for the last 10 days my boss honored my request for it off and scheduled the other girl to work. Yea, poos gonna hit the fan folks. Plus the boss forgot the other girl doesn't want to work any more days and scheduled her for at least a day or two each week so that's not going to go over. I know she forgot but after the other issue of the 4th I'm not sure my coworker is going to see it that way.

oh well, hopefully I won't have to contend with any of that anymore...VERY soon!

I'm sorry for the loss of your dad; I lost my dad almost 3 years ago; it's a tough thing to go through.

I've also been through a bilateral mastectomy, so I know some of what your mom has to be going through too. I also know it's tough to watch a parent deal with cancer, my mom had Non Hodkgin's lymphoma 11 years ago.

I hope you get that promotion, and that going forward, things start to get better for you!
