Day 85-Let It Go

This relates back to the previous lesson of widening your expectations. To be able to just LET IT GO ..is the ultimate success. To be able to just shrug it off & move on with your mind, emotions & life not in an uproar is a good thing!
Simple example..you get mad at a family member..or a friend.. you are sizzling inside with that "gonna show them" mentality. Then you go grab a snack ...stuff your face..slurp down a soda or even a malt!!! Oh yeah you have sure Shown Them...What?? Who did you punish?
Instead..take time to think about it...feel it..roll it around like a chunka bread dough...
Then toss it..mentally picture that emotion...that anger..that hurt rolled in a big ole ball & it is flying across the field to the lake where it will sink never ever to be seen again...
Let It Go... anger only hurts the one who is angry in the long run! Same with most negative emotions..they just eat away at you..at your insides..at your mind..at your piece of mind..
Practice that...review it..make it a part of your being..Do not keep tearing up your world by hanging on to negativity. It takes time & patience & determination.....
As we all have learned over the years..things usually do work out..maybe not exactly as we wanted or planned..but consider is what is going on going to matter in 5 years...5 weeks or even 5 days. I have learned to chant (to myself of course)...Let It Go & Let It Be...
That might not work for everyone ...can't hurt to try it!!
The main idea is not to deny your emotions..but to limit their control over you.
Feel what you need to..keep it as long as you need to..then let it go..really let it go & never pick it up again. Do not be a nester that huddles all the ilk in a nice lil place to drag out & either flog yourself or others with..can you say "guilt trip?"..
We indeed have a right to our feelings..but we should not let them rule us!
It is not what happens to us..it is how we react to what happens that determines who we are.
