Day 86~Don't Let A Few Bites Become a Binge!!

Here we are in the midst of Summer time. Vacations...camping..company.. S'mores around the campfire...brownies for company or special dishes abound! Temptation jumps at you from every corner!!

Tis too easy to just slide right back & forget to make healthy choices or control portions..
The idea of "just this one meal..or just for today" is the siren song that leads to total loss of control. The idea that you have already taken too many bites might as well keep chomping away...will take you right back to where you started!! & the road back is rough!

The phrase that this chapter sings to us is "minimized the damage~!"

Use your skills the tricks you have learned thru these chapters..develop a habit of thinking what tool you need to get thru this particular temptation!!

My ole stand by of 3 bites only stands in good stead many times. You can have that treat..just 3 bites ..remember 1st bite is yummy...2nd is pretty good..by the 3rd bite it has lost its wonder & is just another food.

Take action right away before you feel the rug has been pulled out from under you!!

The last idea is to create the image of a "tasting diet"...you can have most anything..but only a taste or two!! Savor the food, appreciate the flavor , texture, aroma..then move on to some other activity..that does not involve food..like walking !!!

To achieve a goal means daily focus..yep we all slide a bit..but we catch ourselves & get back on track. Plan for those family get togethers..the cruise..or BBQ at the neighbors..
Be ready...Be successful!!
