Progress is success

I have had a few days with higher calorie totals. I haven't crested the top of my range, and I am not worried...I am just ready to reign it back in.
Days like that are not going to get me to my weight loss goals as quickly as I would like...but I do think it is important to live in the REAL world. Not every day is going to be ideal. I am learning how to keep it all in perspective. It is okay to have movie popcorn once in a while. It is okay to have a few days at the top of my calorie range.
These are not failures. These are things that I CAN do and still be working toward my goals. It is a matter of awareness and adjustment. I can look at my movie popcorn and think - yum... that was exactly what I wanted, it hit the spot, and now I won't want that again for quite a while.
I see it this way - I am on the right path. If I slow down a bit or pause to enjoy a moment, I have not lost my way. Progress is success - speed is not the top determinant of that.
