What A Great Day!!!

This morning, Elizabeth and I left for the American Girl Warehouse at 7. We met a fellow volunteer and her Grand-daughter, who live about 10 miles from us, and then the 4 of us headed for Middleton. Both of the girls had been to the Warehouse before, so they knew the drill. Elizabeth is still in awe of just how many dolls were housed in one area. This will be our last day of volunteering until the big sale. After the sale is over, there is usually about a 2 month break before we begin again to get ready for next summer's sale. It is amazing how far people travel for this event. Some come from Europe and plan their vacation around the sale.
When we finished at the Warehouse, we took our lunches to a nearby Park and had a picnic. The humidity of yesterday had lifted and it was a beautiful day. After lunch we went on a tour of Olbrich Gardens. We had a great guide, who told us all about the history of the gardens and the different plants involved. I wondered just how interested a 7 and 10 year old girl would be, but I was pleasantly surprised at what great questions they had.
On our way home, we stopped at an Ella's Deli and the girls had ice cream cones and rode on the Carousel. What a great day. When I see how quickly Elizabeth is growing and changing, I fully realize that it won't be long and I won't get to have her with me as readily as I do now. I am ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE.
