"Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass." (Joshua 21:45)
"God's Word is trustworthy. His promises are true. What God says he will do, he will do. Have you taken the Lord's commitment to Joshua and the people of Israel to heart? God's good promises to you WILL come to pass."

Hi, my friends! Hope you are all having a happy and blessed Sunday! I'm sitting here writing as I watch the last few minutes of the World Cup game between Argentina and Germany. Looks like they might have to go to overtime. Got distracted watching the action - - regular time is up and they will go to overtime.
This coming week is holiday - semester break!! Yea!! Even though I have so much to do around the house... I have made a schedule of things I want to do every day.... now it will be interesting to see how many of them I actually get done!!

It's very likely that some days I'll get caught up in other things - or I just won't feel like settling down to what I should do, and I'll end up doing things that I like to do!!

But that's what vacation days are for, right??

But seriously, I will try to get caught up on a lot of things I've been wanting to do around the house.
Last week was busy with 3 day retreats with students.... and since Yolanda is still recuperating from her surgery, I had to direct the retreats alone. (I did have help from two teachers with organization and discipline.)
Last night, one of the twins, Ana, (my godchild) and her husband made their formal commitment to dedicate their lives and family to God as a part of the Oasis of the Lord community. That's a community of lay people (married couples and also young single people) who commit themselves to live their faith in an active way. They have weekly prayer assemblies, and well as weekly sharing sessions in small groups. And with this world in the situation it is, with so many negative influences, I think it's wonderful that the children will grow up in this community. I feel it will help them so much spiritually. (They don't live together - each family is in their own home, but the community provides the opportunity to grow spiritually, with friends who are doing the same.) They have been two years in preparation and spiritual growth before being able to make this commitment, along with 25 other new members.
I was diagnosed this week with acute, chronic esophagitis - after reading about this on Internet, I'm wondering if it is Barrett's esophagus - the doctor never used this term, but he did say that there are (undesirable) celular changes in my lower esophagus. I'm going to ask more questions at my next appointment in about two weeks. I'll have another endoscopy in about three months to see if it has improved...
So I have to take medication for a while, as well as modify my diet, probably permanently.... no soda, coffee, chocolate, mint, greasy foods, and no citrics. (I'm going to miss my glass of fresh-squeezed orange-grapefruit juice every morning!!) I also have to avoid eating after 7:00 pm (or 3 hours before I go to bed) I also need to lose weight. So now I have added motivation!! Oh - and I had to raise the head of my bed about 6 -8 inches. I would appreciate your prayers that whatever this is, it will heal. Thanks so much!!
Have a wonderful week - filled with the peace and joy of our God!
Blessings and
