This And That......

Last Friday, I was given a new home program and released from physical therapy. This is a big relief because it takes up a lot of my time. On Monday, I saw the orthopedist and was released by him. He said when I can stand with all of my weight on the ball of my right foot, I can do what ever I want. This was good news! Of course I can't do this yet but I am getting there.
This coming weekend is hubby's 60th birthday. We are having a big party at a small restaurant in our town. We are friends with the owners and they will be closing the restaurant for us. Hubby's family members are all coming in from out of town. Both of our daughters will be coming with their families. It will be great to see them! This means that our house will be a real zoo. I am making gluten free cupcakes for those family members with special dietary needs. We ordered a large sheet cake for hubby and the majority of our guests. We will pick it up on Saturday, along with several gallons of ice cream. The cake and ice cream will go directly to the restaurant after we pick it up. I am not worried about my food choices at the party because I already know what I will be having to eat and can plan accordingly.
This morning, I groomed and bathed our puppies. I cleaned up the back porch afterwards so it will be ready for our grandson to play in the blow up pool. We haven't seen him since last year, so it should be fun. The lady who cleans for us came on Monday, so we are clean, neat and tidy. I have changed the sheets on the bed in the spare room. We also borrowed a portable crib, car seat etc. from the folks next door.. The crib is set up and ready in the guest room.
I got my hair done yesterday so I will look spiffy for the party. I ordered a 60th birthday shirt and hat for hubby several months ago. He will look so cute. He was saying this week that he suddenly feels really old. There are days when I couldn't agree more but growing old sure beats the alternative!
