I have been MIA. I have been good...mostly. I have been busy. One of my new goals is to stay under 150 for my first year as a FULL TIME PROFESSOR!

Yes, I finally got a full time position. More on that another day.

So to get me on the right track for this goal, it means I am committed to being here and staying accountable.

I look forward to catching up with you in the coming days and weeks! I hope you are all doing good. I MISS MY SPARKPEEPS!!!!

    If you keep your health and fitness a priority, you can successfully continue to balance work/students/research/committees and all other challenges! I think Steven Covey said that successful people focus on what is important rather than on what is urgent.

    Congratulations! Lay low--be humble--ask the existing staff for advice and assistance (whether you think you need it or not) and try to be helpful whenever you can. Don't get involved in the gossip mill, and don't do (or say) anything that would feed the rumor mill. Focus on your students and your mission, and that probationary year will fly by. If it's a 4-year, focus on publication, too--that way, you'll be too busy to get into trouble.

    (Can you tell I've been there before?)
