the maintenance blues....

after losing 1-2 pounds per week consistently for a year, I am feeling a little low on the maintenance phase......I know it's just "head games" but you don't get the same feelings of "good job", "way to go" and "woooo hoooo" that you got every time the scale dropped another pound. And the shape of my body, though 100% better than it has been in a long long time, is not picture perfect, so I find myself dissatisfied and nit-picky of the saggy skin and fatty areas that remain.

I think the real let down comes in knowing that some things are out of my control -- like the saggy skin areas -- and other things that I can control, like ab workouts, are so completely unpleasant to even contemplate......

Wow! I'm certainly a negative nelly this morning.........need to read my bible, pray, and find joy in this moment......

signing off to sit at the feet of the One who created me and loves me unconditionally.....

    I'm there with you. Been struggling, but I try to focus more on fitness than weight these days, incorporating new recipes and the like. It helps to keep having a goal.

    What about changing your mental image from "weight loser" to "mentor"? Step up your Spark activity by seeking out people to help with their struggles? Some of the most powerful commenters are the ones who are at or near goal. It's inspiring to those just starting as well as to those struggling midway.

    Amen, sister! And what a wonderful thing to remember daily - He created you & loves you unconditionally... We put so much emphasis on how we look (thanks in part to our society) that sometimes we forget the important things! But hey, we all have our down moments. When you're disturbed by saggy skin or whatever - pull out old pictures of yourself before you lost all the weight and cheer yourself on! You should be proud of how far you've come!
