I've never been a journal sort of guy. But I've been trusting and following the guidelines of SparkPeople and SparkCoach for a while. So far, the sensible approach has not led me astray. So I guess, if bloggers are more successful, I ought to jump in.
I've lost weight following SparkPeople before. Right at the top of success, lots of challenges came my way. Frankly, too many. My trusted running companion - my dog - finally succumbed to age and illness. Work became a place I dreaded. Family challenges became overwhelming. I resorted to eating for comfort.
It took a long time to recognize that my actions were signs of depression and my increase in weight was only one more symtom/cause. Finally, after seeking medical advice, that is being dealt with and I'm back to a program that worked.
Its week 3. I'm loving SparkCoach. Yes, I've got the really quick initial weight loss, which I know from experience will slow, and I'm OK with that. But for today - what do I see?
- a couple inches off the waist, and my casual shirt are fitting better
- I'm back to where the belt holes are not worn
- I WANT to get in a workout
I think that's all good.
