Day 9 Menu: chickpeas test

16 oz of water w/lemon, 1 cup dandelion tea, kelp supplement, pro-biotic
Rice Chex (1 c) coconut milk, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, half of a pear
MSM 1000 mg

Mixed greens with grated carrots, 1 oz Pumpkin seeds,
½ cup chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, curry
MSM 1000 mg

½ pear, 14 almonds

chicken breast (left over, baked w/ spicy apricot sauce)
sautéed kale and onion with spicy coco sauce
grated carrot and beet, 1 TBSP sunflower seeds
MSM 2000 mg

Dove Dark 1 oz

Results Day 9:
Weight: 136.6 (up 0.4 = reactive)
Plan total: down 4.4 pounds
New food yesterday: chickpeas
Thoughts on Day 9: chickpeas were yummy with the OO and herb dressing on my big salad. I was famished after my walk, so no photo. I felt a little bloated (scale 3 out of 10) and very achy (scale 6 out of 10) in the afternoon/evening. There is a chance that the stress leading up to the second board exam is a factor. I only gave myself 10 days to go over the law, so I'm feeling a lot more stress.

Re-do friendly day 2 today...tired of chicken, so I'm going with a vegetarian day. Today should go well if I get all my water, stay away from salt, skip the Dove...then I can test a new protein tomorrow. Sleep deprived and headachy from T storms passing to the east.

    Re. coconut milk, I buy the shelf satble, unsweetened plain or vanilla. I have tried so delicious brand and trader joes...both good!

    Re. turkey or fish: each new food is a test, so you can test a new protein on a "test day". Turkey is reactive for most people according to the author so I will test that later after I get more friendly foods figured out. Wild white fish (not salmon) is supposed to be fairly safe bet for most people too. I'm just not much of a fish eater...mostly eat it in restaurants.

    What brand of coconut milk do you use? I'm interested in trying it, but I've seen there are 2 types. A refrigerated coconut milk, and a shelf-stable carton type. Which one would be best to try?

    I figured that's why they took the spicy veg soup out of fall plan. Too bad I made (and froze) a double batch the day before I started...was going to do the menu in the book and changed my mind last minute and did fall updated instead.

    Chickpeas seem tricky for lots more people than the book originally thought; it seems a safe bet to stay away from them for awhile.
