School fate

Sunday, September 07, 2014

Yesterday was the Stanstead School fate in which the Morris Minor Owners Club went along to put on a display. 5 or 6 of our members turned up along with a few other cars.

our line up

There were a few sideshows and stalls but being a village out in the wilds there was not as many as there would have been if it had taken place in the town.

Our club put on a small stall for the kids

We have just bought a new "event tent" which we all helped to set up to keep us dry if it rained (it didn't)

Being a school fate it was aimed at the kids.

With a fancy dress parade

The hall with tea, coffee, home made cake and of course ice cream

In all it was a nice afternoon out with a lot of interest in the cars.

Next week I have the Aylesford Priory

I bet the kids had fun. That's great your club joined in for the school fate. Love the pics. Glad it didn't rain. We had a bit of rain today!

I recognised the name of Stanstead but, having left Kent nearly 39 years ago I couldn't quite remember where it was but I knew that I knew it and had been there and driven through on many occasions. It's not that far from where I used to live. That really brought happy memories back.

I once had the opportunity to have a Morris Minor as my first car but I decided against it. Now I wish I had bought it. You live and learn.
