End of Summer Blues and an Update
Friday, September 12, 2014
Today summer officially ends for me as this is the day the pool closes. Always a sad occasion. Molly the lab will be sorry to see it close too, as she loves tearing across the water in pursuit of some floating toy--the closest she'll get to being a retriever!
However, it is a beautiful day with a touch of fall in the air, so time to forget summer's departure and look forward to the chillier future. (Maybe I should move to some perpetually warm climate; then I wouldn't have to worry about unbearable winters.) Who am I kidding? That's not likely to happen.
A routine blood test/urine sample recently revealed a touch of blood in the urine, so I had to have a "culture" done. Am awaiting the results, which should be in a few days.
I finally finished watching all the previous seasons of "24" and purchased the current one, which aired this season. Dynamic show but with lots of violence. The dramatically drawn characters are what holds it together and makes it compelling.
Daughter had her surgery Monday to remove an overactive hyperthyroid gland, a genetic gift from her father that was discovered in some blood work. She was unable to talk without pain as of yesterday; perhaps today will be better.
Now that the pool is closing, I'm thinking about re-joining a health club to take some fitness classes such as zumba and yoga. They even have introduced a step class, which I always liked. We'll see.
Enjoy the invigorating fall!
