Thought and Prayer for Monday, October 6, 2014

When we are devoted to God, He will strengthen us. When we practice a daily devotion where we read His word and pray, God will reveal to us how we are to apply His word to our lives. God is so good. He know what we need. And our devotion to Him shows we are fully committed to Him. And to those who are fully committed to Him, they will be strengthened. Set aside some devotional time today. Read His word. Feel His presence, His strength and listen to what He calls you to do. Decide to be continuously devoted to God every day.

2 Chronicles 16:9a “The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know there is a reason You want us to read Your word. We know there is a reason You want us to go to church and fellowship with one another. We know there is a reason You want us to spend time daily talking to and listening to You. You want to strengthen us. You want us to know Your word well enough so it will keep us from giving into temptation and so You can strengthen us. Show us the best time to spend with You every day so we can learn to be more devoted to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God will strengthen us when we show continuous devotion to Him.

What we are devoted to controls us because it is always on our minds.

Be devoted to God. That’s the best place to be.

What better strength to have than the strength that comes from God?

We should desire God more than anything on earth.

Psalm 73:25 “Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.” (NLT)

Focus: God is all the strength we need. We can gain strength from reading His word and spending time with Him.
