I am coming up on my 6 year anniversary of joining Spark People and I am sad to say that during those 6 years I gained 10 pounds every year for a total of 60 pounds. Wow what an accomplishment! Am I mad at myself, yes I am. Am I going to let this keep me from reaching my goal. No, I am not. The lessons I've learned far out weigh my weight gain. I have learned why I gained weight instead of loosing it. I've realized that yes, I can loose this weight. I can do the things required to loose weight, but more importantly, I am ready to do them and I WILL DO THEM! I have learned what my eating triggers are. I've realized I didn't treat myself very nicely by the things I said to myself. I've learned which foods to eat so my body can run at optimal efficiency. I've come to understand why eating right, daily tracking, daily consistent exercise, weekly goal setting, weekly evaluations and the importance of constantly reviewing my goals and changing them when needed. Without these key factors, you are setting yourself up for failure like I did. The most important thing I have learned is to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for my actions. I am the reason why I gained the weight instead of loosing it. I thought I knew more than the experts so I made changes to their program. Boy was I WRONG, DEAD WRONG! I have now taken full responsibility for my actions. I will have to say that my 6 years on Spark People were not a total loss. Granted, I have only lost 13 pounds so far, but the lessons I've learned far out weigh the pounds I didn't loose. I now KNOW the formula for loosing weight and keeping it off for good. I am DETERMINED! I am RESPONSIBLE! I am SUCCESSFUL. I am ME!
