October 12, 2014 TAKE ACTION
Sometimes we get stuck. We don’t do anything. We get nowhere. But what we need to do is take action. Even when we don’t feel like it. There are reasons we don’t take action. We procrastinate. We get side tracked. Or we just don’t want to. But if we are truly devoted to God, we will want to take action for Him. We will want to do His will. We will want to fellowship with other believers. We will want to live as God has called us to live. When we are devoted to God, we will have faith that will cause us to take action.
James 2:14 “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?” (NLT)
Dear Lord, forgive us for being stagnant in our spiritual lives. Forgive us for wanting to do as we please rather than seeking what You want us to do. Forgive us for being selfish and not taking action in our faith. Show us today what better choices we can make and give us the courage, the strength and the motivation to take action so You can produce good works through us. We give You our day. Forgive us and make us new and use us to take action for You giving You the glory in all we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we don’t take action for God, who are we taking action for?
If we aren’t doing God’s will, whose will are we doing?
We can’t live for God and do nothing for Him.
God will give us the motivation and desire to live for Him when we make it a practice to read His word and listen to His call.
We were created to do the good things God planned for us long before we were even born.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT)
Focus: Every action we take is either God’s will or it is not.
